solution for writie pm308 into nokia N96 - GSM-Forum

if u erase N96 after erase and flash you can not restore pm308 so the simlock will be damaged and you need to buy RPL.

but there is another solution tested by me:

-backup crt and simlock (better to backup all important pm fields)
-erase phone(use "Universal_BB5Erase_RAPIDO_MCU.bin" with skip APE)
-flash phone with N95 8gb files (version 31 is tested and worked)
-phone will be white screen so dont worry
-now write to phone just pm308(not crt)
-then flash the phone with N96 files.
-restore crt backup.
-enjoy.

yes zulea discussed this in his post, for n96,n85 and 5800 free unlock solution, IF you don't have cyclone box.

very smart

N96 does exist in newer BB5+ series and it has two simlock area, one is 308 and the other one called 120, ofcourse you can not restore simlock area if you are trying by only 308 field, you must need also 120 field to be able to restore the simlock area. there are more tricks if you are failed to repair sp area, but your method is not good, Skip APE can cause damage phone permanently you know ? 2nd: N95 v31 is also buggy, it can not be downgrade so be avoide if phone is not serious injured

Always save your full pm backup 0-400 before taking any action, it will be very helpfull in case when you damage sp area or you are unable to resote the simlock area.
