Hi everybody, i found this forum looking around on the net for a free way to unlock my 5200, according to the website where i found this:
Software: BB5 Unlocker by logs v1.0b by Dejan Kaljevic

It should work for unlock 5200, but here is my question, for sure this phone doesnt have a port to connect the dku-5 cable, so.. how can this trick work for this phone? i have the dku-5 original and the CA-42 also original, but none of both fix on the 5200... i have also dku-2 and dke-2 ( this one cames with the cellphone) so, can you please give me a hand here?? i mean, i wan to know if this program really works for my cellphone and if is really possible to unlock the cellphone without a box, cause actually i only need unlock my cellphone for family trips and nothing else, is not something im gonna do lots of times, thx a lot for your time and i will apreciate any answer from you, can be on spanish or english,

sorry for my english.

Cya guys.

DKU-5 Cable

Hi there

I was wondering with the DKU-5 Cable, was that a serial (com) port cable or USB? Here in NZ i can only find the DKU-5's with UBS heads. Sorry if this question has been asked a million times, but all i could find was

"use DKU-5 or a COM port cable."

Which doesnt give me a 100% answer.

Thanks in advance!!

It does have a USB connector but when installed it is a virtual com port cable (acts like a com port cable) if that helps?

does your cable came with an on/off switch.mine is also a prolific usb to serial comport dku-5 and it worked just fine with my vodafone 6630.

you have to install the driver that came with the cable first then restart.after your pc restarted to windows, plug in the cable with your phone then turn your phone on.your pc will not detect a hardware has been plugged in which is ok.next is to go to device manager and look for the prolific usb to serial in the comport tab and write down the assigned comport number.

go to the folder bb5 unlocker in you pc and open the bb5_unlocker.cfg and edit the com number with the same number with your prolific usb adaptor. then save as and overwrite.

next is run bb5logunlocker.exe
next is click read phone.wait until it says done.
next is to click make.wait until it is done.your phone will restart.

next is run bb5_calc.exe, it will display all possible unlock codes for your phone which is also saved in the psw folder.you can manually enter the unlock codes or click sp unlock button for automatic entering of the unlock codes.

bb5 unlocker will automatilcally update you info just like when you click the read phone.sp status will now show unlock.

this what i did but i dont know with condition of your pc and your phone.you should have a healthy windows install if encouneterd any problems.

bad connection check fbus cable ???

hi everybody
i have a 6680 locked with 3. I read a lot of newsgroup or forum on how can I unlock it!!
i bought a code to enter by phone keypad but without any result!!
Then I bought a dku5 cable from ebay, i used the bb5 unlock sw from Dejan, I can read the phone but after pushing make log, I see the message "bad connection, check fbus cable..."
Someone can tell what's happened?
why I read someone speak about "cable driver" ??!! I don't understand: driver for a cable? Mine has no cd in the envelope, are you sure about the installation of driver?
please help me
thanks

Double check the logs directory to see if it logged the phone or not, if so just run bb5_calc and then the PSW directory will contain the unlock codes for the handset which you can enter yourself the same as you would for an older IMEI calc handset model, otherwise just keep trying read and log until it does manage to log the phone ok

Question Modify nonorig.-nokia cable for BB5. Is it possible?

I bought a rather cheap cable for nokia 3100...
And after trying to unlock my 6680 from swedish 3 SP with Dejan I gave up and started to look at the cable.... The circuit board looks quite advanced for a lowbudget cable so if anyone better than me in electronics could help me out I just might get it to work.

I got it working as "OTI USB-to-Serial Comm Port (COM3)" but not for unlocking..

Glad if you could help me out.

uploading some drawings of the circuitboard (wich is double sided)
Will add real images when I get hold of a dig. cam.
