Update Your Phone Software

Nokia has released a "Nokia Software Updater" its the flashing software which allows you to keep your phone up-to-date, as well as fix a potential operation problems you may have by updating your phone firmware regularly.

The software and update packages are provided by Nokia free of charge and it gives users the abillity to update their phone(s) without need to bring the handset to a service facility to update the firmware on their mobile phone.

Over the last several years, mobile phones have undergone a transformation from relatively simple voice-based handsets to more sophisticated multimedia communication devices, and they now commonly include MP3 player, came.

would be interested if this works with dead phones too. well, i took my dead 6630 to repair center today, so i cant try this.

ok, i just found this:

"My phone is dead; can I update the software?"
If the phone cannot be turned on, then software updates are not possible.

no dead phone support, also this wont flash generic firmware onto branded phones

i tried with a o2 branded v4 old firmweare, and report me its fully up to date. so i guess debranding is not possible this way, which is pretty obvious, as no way would nokia allow people to debrand there phones this way

I guess that's no surprise. Phoenix first followed by Nokia's Software Updater thereafter will definitely do the trick it seems. Now all they need to do is fix the Content Copier so that all my contacts and caller groups will be restored from my backups!! Damn hopeless s/w. I'm buying Oxygen (since there's no cracked version for the N80 out there yet).

Works fine with my N73,, the software even has N73 picture to details the model.. But no software updates at this time, I think i read somewhere all the S60 3rd Generation has FOTA.. Cool!! cant wait for the updates when it is released! For now, will just keep the Software updater in my computer
