I found on net a pic about 6288 media player. Its got skin! Wow
Its not the same as you talking about here 5.92 version.
Or, should i select 6288 firmware update, not the 6280???
6288 phone only can capture real live video at max 176x220 resolution.
Anyone know abut differencies between these phones?

Does anyone know how to flash to a different 6288 pack? I flashed to a Vodafone Australia one because I thought it was unbranded, and damn was I wrong. Now my right soft key is locked! And Phoenix wont let me flash it again!

If anyone can help, that'd be great. Also, which series number is an unbranded one? I dont want to have to be stuck without my right soft key! Cheers!

guide to flash 6280 to v5.92 works!

Just to share that the guide provided works, provided you follow the EXACT instructions.

(1) remove all Nokia-related s/w
(2) clean your registry
(3) install Diego 3.07
(4) install Phoenix 2006 with install-crack and runtime-crack
(5) install 6280 firmware pack

My experience:
Diego refused to install b'cos I forgot to remove Nokia s/w
Phone died after flashing, and I panic for some time cos the 'flash dead phone' option was grayed out! After trying all means for an hour, the option came back and I upgraded the firmware.
As I used the auto-detect function, it picked up the correct code.
The phone remains a 6280, not 6288. <-- can anyone share if there're differences if I'm to do a force upgrade to 6288 firmware?

Hi,

I am a newbie to this forum. Downloaded and installed the phoniex as per the instrucions but scared to flash my 6280..

I would appreciate, if someone would share this info for me if he/she is successfully flashed 5.92 on 6280.

1) what was your original firmware before 5.92 flashing ?
2) I have v3.65 RM-78, do you think i can skip from firmware versions in between 3.65 & 5.92 before flash to 5.92?
2) if its fails, what do you think I should do able flash again with older version of firmware ?
3) I'm from US...its obvious nokia wouldn't support. Do you know any place where this can fixed to get back back dead phone ...?

Thanks in advance,
-S

Thanks a lot for a wounderful website & great content.

I cound NOT wait for someone to reply on my thread. So took a chance and tried flashing on my 6280 orig. v3.65. It worked, now *#0000# returns v Nokia 6280 5.92 RM-78 not 6288??

Also, WMA files are not playing as per someone claim...Not sure, why its not working for me....any idea or pointers would be appreciated.
