Member: 1970798 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Ericsson A2618s - Intermittent No Access or strange rebooting loops As in the title, I was originally getting the infamous "No Access" error (usually when the battery was low). Now, however, I either have "No Access" all the time or it will go on a reboot loop, restarting after saying "Searching..." for a few seconds. When that happens it will reboot the instant it receives a signal. If I remove the SIM card it will easily give me a signal strength for emergency calls and won't shut off until I insert a SIM card again. When it originally did it, I made a new battery pack for it which strangely seemed to fix it for about a week. Then it's been doing this ever since. I've switched back to my old Nokia 3810 in the meantime and I forgot how much I loved the old Nokias, from when they truly did nothing more than calls, phonebook and SMS... I have a basic hot air SMD rework station (no preheating plate or infrared heat, one of the Atten-like Hakko clones) and am willing to attempt reflow (which part, the RF chip? charging chip? processor?), although I haven't reflowed a phone chipset before - only SMD things. I'd really appreciate suggestions on where to start as I'm having difficulty finding information for the old A2618s. Thanks! |
