Graphic Operator Logo on ERICSSON (soon)
 

I'm going to release soft to display your own graphic operator logo (still on display) in a few days. Is there an interest? It should have dimensions 64x7 pixels, this time <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

If the grafic-modifier will work as good as your operatortext-modifier it will be a great pleasure to use it!

<br />1. For changing the logo on your A1018, T1x, T28 use the unlocking/flashing cable.

2. For A2618, A2628 or T20 use the Ericsson DRS-10 or similar. The RX/TX pins are located two pins left compared with the unlocking-cable.

3. For T39 and R520 simply use IrDA to send a four-colored GIF image (max 600 bytes long) to the 'Infrared Recipient'. (Under Win2K or WinME, of course).

I've just tried the new prog with a usual A1018s-flash.

It works!!!!!!!!

Tomorrow I will try to modify TETRIS-flash and try it with a T10!

@jarod: No, it's the A1018s-flash with TETRIS! Everybody is talking about a magical-T10-flash with TETRIS, but I think that's a hoax! The only TETRIS modified flash is the one for A1018 by zuleah.

If someone knows something other, let me know!

@nuro: No problem, for me it's easier to check soft with the A1018, because it's amuch more cheaper mobile and actual I've sold out all my T10s except of one. And I don't want to change this! <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">

Is it a bug or is the graphic-dimension bigger than the normal texture? With the old prog, I was able to modify more than one operator-text. Just reload the modified flash and enter another new text for another operator. With the new SW I'm told something like: Take another flash! No space found!<br />Maybe there's a possibility to work for v1.0 ? <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> <br />I know it's not very nice, to complain about a just new released soft, but.......

...in the &gt;*&lt;&lt;*&lt;* - n-row texts? Menu at a 000414-T10-flashfile exist the word Tetris, may be the game is "only" deaktivatet somehow...

Two or more logos in phone at once, is therotecically possible, but is more complex than with text logo, so this possibility is not in my program.<br />There are many possible many future advancements <img src="wink.gif" border="0"> , this is it why version is 0.9 <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

I've managed do modifiy Tetris for A1018 with startup-, Antenna-, Battery- and operator-Graphic!

I continue browsing inside flash files;<br />in "tetris" flash are string like:<br />MMICall.c<br />MMIUtil.c<br />\iar-avr\inc\mmismsmt.c<br />and such.

Do you know someone that have this (and more) filez? (Source code of flash would be ideal <img src="smile.gif" border="0"> ,but this seems not possible <img src="frown.gif" border="0"> )

Thanx a lot, i already have this file, and apllied it two times with success. But I am spending time modifying thise file, to make it better.

For example: I change letters order for writing SMS, on key 7 i already have PRSQ, instead of PQRS, because Q is not common character in Slovak language. <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

It would be nice to have a T1x flash containing the Tetris game with modified startup & operator logos, antenna and battery skins etc...

I'd like to say that it is not so easy to "implant" a piece of code from one flash to another. It requires too much time to be spent with flash disassembling, analyzing and experimenting. I consider focusing on this as wasting precious time. The T1x Ericsson phones series are now a bit outdated and IMO it is not worth enhancing their software. The programs for changing logos are out long since (VZ's one, Nuro's and also that one I've written a pretty long time ago), so why not change the graphics with those tools...

Now I focus on programming of newer Ericsson phones like T28, R320 and probably the R520 and T39. The processor type used in these models is the same as in the A1018 and T1x (the Atmel AVR RISC), as opposed to the Zilog Z80 used in the earlier phones (6xx, 7xx, 8xx).

Currently I plan to modify the phone firmware in such way it would not require to have a SIM-card inserted to operate (a cloned SIM-card would be emulated by the modified firmware).

Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Lead: I don't think, that T28 is a new phone. <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> <br />A1018s is still very common in Slovakia (in other countries too, I think). Newer phone are very interesting and also more attractive to "research" <img src="cool.gif" border="0"> but I don't have one to modify its soft, it is easy. I modify my own phone, not for money, just for a joy. <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

SIM simulation provides many possibilities, but I heard that many crypting is executed by SIM card, it would be hard job doing it without. More likely sounds intercepting some of SIM card functions. (but then must be one in phone)

I don't think even the R520m is a new phone. I wrote that the T28 is "newer", but not "new". That's different. Everything is relative, as somebody said... <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> Now, I am happy owner of the R520m (Lightning Copper - limited edition <img src="cool.gif" border="0"> ) which I bought more than 4 months ago. I don't know how to communicate with the R520m, don't know how to read the EEPROM (which is emulated in the flash, of course), don't know anything about the phone. I've disassembled the phone, seen sparse PCB <img src="eek.gif" border="0"> that could be easily packed to suit the T39m dimensions... <img src="tongue.gif" border="0">

The SIM-card performs a lot of ciphering, and it would have to be done by the phone firmware itself. The whole A3A8 algorithm has to be performed by the firmware. Just imagine the phone writing "Enter Ki:" and "Enter IMSI:" after power-on instead of the the stupid message "Insert card". <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> Not an easy job to do, but much easier than with Nokia containing lots of __cking checksums. The Ki has 128 bits. That means if you were using only characters 0..9 and A..F, then you'd have to type 128 / 4 = 32 characters.

Hello, I want to say to Lead and Nuro to keep the good work, because it is very nice to put now things and options to our phones and to impress our friends.

It would be nice to make also to make T9 text insertion available on those phones (particularly on t28), if it was possible.

And to Tigerent: The Tetris a1018s flash wasn't a flash modified by zulea because it really exists on Ericsson (I even have a manual on wich this game is documented, and in Portuguese, wich the flash supplied by zulea hasn't)

I think this is unlikely. T9 requires lot of memory and is not easy to implement such thing. <br />(Especially if I don't know how it works exactly.)

I think T9 would be possible if most of the languages were deleted (besides they aren't needed).

Tigerent: the manual is like the one that cames with a new phone, but this one was sacked from ericsson web in .pdf when I bought my a1018s, and when I compared with mine, I saw that it had <br />the Tetris game. (if you still want it, please say it)

So when we send our phone to update firmware to Ericsson, maybe we could tell them to upload the one wich has the Tetris game, and our language.
