Your old cable doesn't work with Henrich's soft now too?
Well, there's either a cable problem or operating system problem.
Which version of software and what OS are you running?

In Henrich's soft you must use "Slow PC" or "USB cable" speed setting.
As for the power supply, 5v or 9v should be good.

Try another COM port, play with the port speed setting...
Which Alcatel phone you're trying to connect? If you have some other model, try it with Vygis too...

You should turn the phone off, you may even want to re-insert the battery.
Before you start make sure the battery is charged to its maximum.
When you're able to connect, be sure to make a full flash backup...
Good luck!
