Alcatel 2038x generic firmware
 

Does anyone have links to 2038x (or n) unlocked firmware with polish language support?

Is there any software to edit bin files extracted from pac firmware? (except xxxxxxx china editor priced as phone itself ;) )

Do You get the firmware? I need it too.

There is no "Generic firmware" for Alcatel phones.

All models have specific PID, that shows for which region is device intended.

Also, 2038x model have several hardware revisions,
so flashing random flashes may lead to either dead device,
or device showing blank/white screen, or - lack of gsm/3g/lte service.

So ... if you need to reflash device, post phone's original PID,
and I will check if there is ROM file available.

Thats not entirely true
I've flashed every single rom for 2038 from xxxxxxxxxx and xxxxxxxxx sites (A M N and X versions) none of them have polish language support but also none of them bricked my phone - moreover only ones that were simlocked (company branded) rejected my polish orange virgin and t-mobile simcards

erm... how to obtain PID on this phone? is it CU REF?

Well, what I wrote is entirely true,
but you just had luck to have "basic" revision, otherwise it would not end that happy :D
(but with dead or no display - or no network phone)

Let's make it clear - It's not about PID (CU-REF), but hardware revisions,
X/D/N models etc CAN be cross-flashed.

However, PID : 2038X-3xALE71 is for Balkans, but don't have Polish lang.
(it have English, Deutsch, Slovenian, Croatian and Serbian.)

But ... There is Retail Poland rom , PID : 2038X-3xALPL1
(it have English, French, Russian, Deutsch and Poland lang.)

Test and post results.

So I've checked everything once again and I must admit, you're right.
There are some black markings on black cover tapes XL3 3G FM-V1.0 and 2038N-W1/578-V1.0 maybe that's something related to hw revisions you mentioned

After flashing all firmwares that I have here are my conclusions:
All N versions work as expected (what a surprise ;))
All A versions - keyboard is not working or working very slow, no gsm connetion and battery indicator shows always 0% (but phone is not entirely dead - can be reflashed :D)
All X versions (including polish one that you provided) work perfectly but they have one main disadvantage - Only SIM1 slot works - SIM2 doesn't (no indicator, no second imei)

in the end... foreign dual sim or native single sim :( (or thrash bin :D because all of this flashing has overwriten both original imei)

Nah ... No trashing yet. Check PM ...

Idon't know why but I cannot reply to PM... anyway - I've already fixed imei and flashed 2038N_ALHK_V1.4_170906 after posting my conclusions - works like out of a box

I'ts a pity that I can't replace one language with another like it was in older phones (without stealing manufacturers hardrives with uncompiled file systems and all necesarry tools ;) )

Well, it's not that "Generic" and it's "ACC3" so it MAY cause
white screen/no network/dead phone, on older hardware revisions/different pids.

Posted firmware PID is : 2038X-3xVDDE1, No-Sim Lock.
Languages inside: English, Turkish, Deutsch, Netherlands.

p.s. There are also MR1 and MR2 (Vodafone Romania), beside "Regular/Old" HW versions.
All of this, as a small precaution, what you flash into phone.
Without old hardware phone in hands, to test, cant say for sure
if/what will work and what wont.

p.s.2 This was FRIENDLY info and precautions. Chinese OEM's
make waaay too many crap/different hardware from series to series.

I downloaded the software 2038X ALPL V1.5 181130 and I think I was lucky.

No simlock and no white screen/brick phone after this operation. Thanks for help my Frends!

wow great worked for me too on optus 2038x were it did not ask for enter unlock code after flashing the given firmware it just started as an unlocked phone.not even ask to enter code.thank you

Sorry to revive an old thread~~ I have this phone with me, I have downloaded the SPD/ResearchDownload tool but nothing happens when I connect it to my computer: I have the option to pick "Charging" or "USB" on the phone so I pick "USB" but it just displays my MicroSD as a disk and nothing happens.

It seems that I have the N hardware revision (second line on the the label). CU Ref is: 2038X-3F0BGB2

Try this ...


- load rom, press start
- remove battery
- insert usb cable
- hold back key
- re-insert battery
- download should start

p.s. Install SPD drivers before process.

Thanks a lot I could never have guessed that !

I have installed your Polish firmware and the phone is turning ON! I had many cut calls and other glitches with this phone. Hopefully with this new firmware those problems will be resolved (I will try to come back & confirm in a week).

Ah, I had forgotten to save my SMS data before flashing, the idiot me lost all of them (it's almost midnight and my head is fried anyway).

Don't forget also that it wipes out your alarms~~ (luckily my cats woke me up!)

Unfortunately there is still this bug: it cuts off when calling for a long time, meh

I assumed that is MTK and do direct, but..it's spd :)

Few tools that support codes have expired recently,

so if anyone has the will to share unlock code i would be grateful :rolleyes:

Always use search before posting.

2038x can be simply unlocked by flashing retail firmware into it.

Your post is now merged with with existing thread.
Read it from beginning and try what is posted.

posting results is appreciated, as a sign that you either succeeded or failed.
