Alcatel 5028D 1S 2020 firmware or proinfo file needed

Hello, I managed to brick my Alcatel 1S 5028D while trying to install a custom GSI rom on it and generally while learning about MTK phones as this is my first of that kind.

The Upgrade Tool can't help me at this moment because the proinfo partition is wiped and all I get is "You select wrong phone model".

Would anyone be so kind to provide me with a proinfo file or even better a stock ROM for my device?

AFAIK this is the PID of the device 5028D-2AALE112, however I'm not sure I know how to write it to an existing proinfo file, tried editing a few others but the tool still returns the same error.

First of all ... NEVER, EVER make full format of MTK devices
(like some IDIOT, MORON, RETARD said in some YT clip or blog)

Now, First aid ... try to flash with russian 5028Y firmware.

Download: 5028Y-2CALRU12 - Stock Retail RUssian rom.

After unpacking ... run attached script (unpack convert.bat and 7zip in same folder with files)
and it will convert/unpack files, making it ready for flashing via SPFlashTools

About proinfo ... yes, i found some, and have edited it for you (with your desired PID).

please check attached pictures about how should it look after unpacking
and running supplied batch script.
Also have pictures attached on writing ProInfo partition ...

to write partition via SPFT:
- open spft, load scatter
- press ctrl+alt+v
- drop down menu "window" - "write memory"
- new tab will appear, click on it
- select file (proinfo.bin)
- put begin address : 0x800000
- press "write memory" button, connect powered off device to cable

You're a legend mate, can't thank you enough! After downloading the south African variant and performing a full flash the phone came back to life, however it still wasn't able to boot properly. But at that point, the Upgrade tool detected it properly and flashed the stock firmware back on. After that, the mobile phone is fully working!

Once again, thank you very much, you saved me a couple hundred euros I was gonna spend on a new phone!

I have an extra question if that's okay. I would really like to switch to Lineage GSI ROM, and it fully works when I tried it. However, the baseband version and IMEI is blank, that's the only problem with it. Any idea if that's a quick fix by flashing some partition after installing the ROM or is it hard to fix in which case I will just remain with stock for now?

Imei is OTP-based on Alcatel MTK phones, even if erased, after full flash
phone will read imei from otp zone and re-create imei (and full NVRAM area)
To save it - simply read / backup NVRAM partition.

If, after flashing GSI or other (ie: AOSP based) rom, imei disappears, but in phone menu
there is visible baseband version - means NVRAM is gone, so simply restore it.
If, however - baseband version is empty, then the specific rom
is not compatible with phone hardware (baseband), and you can't make it work.

What i can see from PHHusson's github and posts around,
peope are having problems with RiL (baseband) and other features,
as it is still experimental.
HERE is the "issues and fixes" thread you wanna see ...
There are some fixes for RIL there ...

You are, of course encouraged to contact developers of rom
and report issues with your hardware, so they can fix things ...

I can also recommend to use some android utility, like HWInfo etc,
which displays detailed information about baseband hardware,
and other stuff, so developer can add support for it.
Also, get a build.prop from your device, it can help.

p.s. Try to get some latest GSI images and patches,
i can see phhusson is actively working on patches and enabling support
in newest releases ...

p.s.2 Ask someone in PHH's Telegram Group,
be sure to read ALL FAQ's stated there ...

p.s.3 You can also try to make TWRP from factory image, read carefully THIS THREAD
I dunno if android inside your device is 8, 9 or 10 but it's easy to try
(you will need to unlock bootloader before twrp -
("fastboot flashing unlock" from fastboot)


Oh, and I almost forgot ... maybe you dont need to do project treble
(if you are okay with older android - which still works good),
all you have to do is remove unnecessary bloatware/apps that you dont need,
so you will have more RAM and storage available ...

Things i would do :
- Unlock boot
- Try MAGISK and root
- Titanium Backup (to fully DELETE all bloatware)
- replace Launcher, camera apps etc

Some interesting tips can be found here (use translate from chrome)

Flash with south African variant and phone not boot up and only boot loop
sadly i flash phone Format All+Download
and now only vibrate

classic beginner's mistake ... NEVER EVER FULLY FORMAT MTK phones.

you can try using posted roms, if that doesnt help ... no idea.

only by writing valid proinfo and using Mobile Upgrade.

write pro_info and resto of secure partition files,
then use mobile upgrade, it will come back to life.
