Hi Andy4wisdom, Please check cable flex so If you want read it carefully, it is Moto bulletin, If you need more info contact to me.. Regards, Ozitech Problem Service is aware that some GSM L6 phones have been returned with complaints of no display. The failure analysis revealed that flex cable was damaged due to rework process at factory. During disassembly of display module, flex cable can be caught by the metal insert on the chassis (see figure 1). When removing display module, flex cable needs to be carefully handled through the slot on chassis metal insert. In some cases, operator might have pulled the flex without enough care, and flex cable was thorn. Figure 1: location of slot on chassis metal insert, and area where damage is caused on flex cable Solution This problem has been addressed by Work Instruction at factory, implemented by February 13th, 2006. When disassembling L6 display module, the following procedure is advised: The slot on the chassis metal insert can catch this area, during disassembly Damage on flex cable normally appears here Slot on chassis metal insert 1. First, remove the battery cover, battery, rear housing, and transceiver PC board as described in the Service Manual procedures. 2. Use the metal tweezers to release the display module assembly latches located at the side of the display module (see Figure 2). Figure 2: Releasing display module latch 3. Lift up the top edge of the display module (see figure 3) Figure 3: lifting up display module for removal 4. Carefully thread the display flex cable through the slot in the chassis assembly and lift the display module away from the chassis. 5. To replace, align the display module to the chassis assembly. 6. Hold the side of the display module near the flex cable away from the chassis assembly. 7. Carefully thread the display flex connector through the opening on the chassis assembly. 8. Lower the display module fully onto the chassis assembly and gently press it into place. 9. Reassemble the transceiver PC board, antenna, SIM, battery, and battery cover as described in the Service Manual procedures. Authorized Service Centers need to adhere to these disassembly instructions, which are already informed by GSM L6 Service Manual. Service Action Customer Returns: When servicing GSM L6 returns, with complaint of No Display, then: 1. If the customer complaint is confirmed, then: a) Swap display module with a new display module. Please follow assembly/disassembly instructions from Service Manual, so damage to flex cable can be avoided at Authorized Service Center. Instructions are included above in this FSB. b) Retest the unit to verify proper operation. | |
