SME45i and Flexmem

Hello,

I have some easy (or not?) questions about Flexmem in SME45i.

1. How can I backup (small) Flexmem (348 KB) => then increase Flexmem by patch to (393,51 KB) => and then restore (small) Flexmem content into (big) Flexmem?

(I've tried to saving flash from 0x140000 0x080000 bytes and restored this after increaseing => then Flexmem has 348 KB again. Using DES I had problems with "SMS-splitting" => ".smi, .smo, .txt"-problem!)

2. How can I convert .txt (on PC) to .smi or .smo for mobile?

3. Is there a possibility, to read out stored SMS (in and out) to pc without (automatic) converting to .txt?

Hope somebody can help!?

1. No way to make it by cutting&pasting fw, you have to backup flexmem folders using DES and to restore them in Enlarged FlexMem

2 and 3.There are some programs, called something like, smo2txt and txt2smo, that can do this work

Have you ever tried? Of course this was my first try because it's the easiest! As I wrote, there are problems with "sms splitting" - it means, if I restore sms back in phone, some sms where splitted.

Example:

Before backup there is a file test.smi in phone => after backup there is a file test.txt on pc => after restore there are two files in phone "test_002_001.smi" and "test_002_002.smi" and text was splitted.

Maybe one reason could be, that sms after backup with DES would be automaticly convert to.txt-file and after restoring again to .smi/.smo-file?

But after all, there must be a possibility!

adressbook (and other) backup is able throught SiMoCo http://www.mysiemens.cz/ms/simoco/

or you may able to open your adressbook files with r/w book or siemens offline adresbook extractor.

in DES synch don't forget to unhide hidden dirs!

Yes.
Uncheck "convert file" option in DES!
