Hello All,

I have a question already --what is v56 and where can I get it???

v56 is the latest fw (firmware) version for sl45. it is a kind of software for cell phones. you can search the internet but it is possible that your phone has already the version 56. in order to test whether your phone has version 56, you should press *#06*, you will see the IMEI of your phone. and then while viewing IMEI, if you press left soft key of your phone, you will see the version info for your phone.

lower than version 56 cant read MMC that has more than 32 MB.

All patches in this forum are for version 56
and version 56 also includes JAVA feature

I strongly recommend you to make a Backup of your current firmware. Make also a Backup of your EEPRom area. Use V_Klay for this or UniSiemens. Both programms are perfectly for this prodecedure (In UniSiemens after use you must remove battery and then you can switch on phone again).
For upgrade....

) mentioned use the WinSwup version to upgrade to v56. You can also use a Fullbackup from annother phone but then you must flash your EEProm back to get your phone run again. Keep hands away from "unlock" via Freia - EEProm contains sensible data that fits only to THIS phone esp. battery parameters. So just for a new user like you. Make more than one backup from the EEP area. Fullbackups can be found tons in the net but not YOUR EEP
