Question: How to SP-unlock A55 that is upgraded to C55? - GSM-Forum

This is a bit tricky, since I don't know what solution to use - should I use solution for A55, or for C55?

Anyone have any ideas what to do here?

I found out by just doing it.
Used Freia build 8, phone model as A55, and just pressed unlock.. phone is now unlocked and working 100% as a C55 with no SP-lock!

Now I will try to enable flexmem etc.. hehe

The SP unlock as far as I know alters the EEPROM not the flash area - therefore a C55 should work with a program intended to unlock an A55 - when I upgraded (without overwriting the EEPROM area) I did not have to go throught the process of unlocking the phone again. I should imagine that anything which alters the basic FLASH area would HAVE to be C55-specific in order to work, whether the phone is a "genuine" C55 or an upgraded A55 - in fact, with the exception of the external antenna socket, the hardware is identical in both phones .

Having said that, the patches I have used for unlocking Java etc (allowing access to the Flexmem via PC) were for the C55 & they worked perfectly.
