S75 official FW47 Variant A104 or A600

Hello,

Can you please help me find this FW? The Benq-siemens site is already out of service and I need this FW to update my s75 which has FW24.

Thanks.

For official version, there's only variant x4xx available in siemensmania.cz (require login to download it).

As for unofficial version (winswup version), there's only variant x3xx available in allsiemens.com/flash (also MAP and XFS available in the same source).

Thanks. I've been reading about MAP and XFS but I really can't find a good information about it in "English" and the procedure on how to install these files. It's very frustrating reading discussions and advises in siemens forums just saying "to upgrade to this and apply this" without giving the proper procedure.

If there's anybody out there who have done these updates and applying of patches maybe it's time for them to share what they have learned. I know that there are lots of siemens-phone lovers out there who are very interested to learn. Let's help each other.

For updating the MAP, you need to download SWritemap software. It consists of 2 files: standard map and delta map. Delta map contains the GPRS and MMS settings for network supported by the variant (in this case Eastern Europe). You can update the delta map also in order to be more stable, but later you'll need to resetting all of the GPRS and MMS.

XFS in otherhand, consists of content of the flexmem completely (include hidden drive 1 and 2). To update it, requires winswup 4.18 (search the web to obtain one). You'll have to backup all of your addressbook and also application, because the XFS will replace the whole content of your flexmem with the updated ones.

Thanks. More questions. Why do I need to do these upgrades? Is there any prerequisite on the FW level side? Is it safe to do this (no chance of damaging the unit)? I really appreciate your help.

Another question. Which one should I update first, the fw, the map, or the XFS?

Apply the upgrades in the following sequence: Firmware -> MAP -> XFS.

Normally, if you upgrade just the firmware, you'll still be facing some bugs in your handset, i.e. bugs related to the backlight can be solved by updating also the XFS. As for MAP, it basically have something to do with the stability of the network.

I forgot one other thing, backup also the desired T9 and license folders before updating the XFS.

Just use SiMoCo 2.2.8 to do the magic.

Is there a specific procedure how to update the fw, map, and xfs? I tried using winswup v41.15 on the FW update but the phone shuts down during pre-check.

It's basically same with XFS upgrade. For firmware, the upgrade concept need to be in secure mode. Load the xbi/xbz using winswup and write to the phone with pre-check and post-check unchecked. This time you can upgrade your S75 with turn ON condition (then click the button 'start and close').

It's normal to have the handset shutdown during pre-check. It means the device is recognised by winswup, and cable is configured correctly.

Hi, I'm really struggling with this update stuffs. I've used winswup 4.18 but I'm getting this error "Cant connect to Mobile with BootstrapLoader on Com 4". I've tried all posible phone set-up such as "no sim + off or on, with sim + off or on. I really need your help on how to accomplish these updates.

I also followed the following procedure as per your advise:

"How to Perform:
1. Turn OFF the handset and connect it with computer using appropriate cable.
2. Run the Winswup 4.18 application, configure the ComPort and baudrate of the cable where the handset is connected. Keep the 'Force ComPort' unchecked.
3. Open the selected XFS file (change the Files of type into FFS-Content *.XFS).
4. Change the update-concept to Force BSL, unsecured mode (Option\Update-concept).
5. Skip the pre-check and post-check.
6. Press the 'Start' button.
7. Wait until the process is finished before shutdown the winswup application."
