ORIGINAL USB CABLE & CX65 = update firmware? - GSM-Forum

Hi all... In a few days I'll receive my new phone ( CX65 ).

It's possible to buy the original Siemens cable for a special price (about 13 $) but I've several questions...

It's possible with this cable upgrade my new phone? How? With the original updates or also with backup / flashing tools (like V_Klay) ? It's possible with this cable apply the patch to the phone? What are the limits of this cable? Another thing... what cable? DCA-510 or DCA-540? What are the differences? Thx all...

You can upgrade firmware of xour phone with every original Siemens cable (i'm using S55 serial for that and it's working).
First, download original firmware from Siemens-mobile. (free registration)
Second, use the downloaded software for your phone and follow proceedure.
For working with V-klay and patching i don't know becouse i don't have that cable.
But i would recomend you to buy RS 232 serial cable and not USB becouse it is much more supported (even with V-klay) and most important: IT WORKS

What is the different between RS 232 and DCA-5xx

Difference between those two cables is that RS 232 stands for serial connection to PC, and DCA-dxx cables are connecting through USB with PC
