ME45 Troubles

I recently got a ME45 which seems to be a great mobile phone, and I'm thinking of keeping it, but I have some problems with it.

First of all it works great, the menu acessing is fast, smooth there are no network problems whatsoever. The thing that bugs me is that after I format the drive the drive info says : Size 348 Kb, Free 347 Kb. Why is that??

And Second I've been having problems flashing it with patches or even fullflash, the software just does'nt upload. I had luck with S45i_040315.exe (WinSwup) which finishes with no error, but then I can't activate the crc patches, and the s/me crc - so I cant turn the phone on! After I loaded the new software I was able to turn on the crc's (with SMEactivation tools), but I cant upload any of the other patches??

I don't know what the problem with my phone is and should I try to flash it again??? If some1 can answer these questions for me I'd be very thankful!!

First of all...do you have a fubu (fullflash) of your old data (before applying S45i_040315.exe) and eeprom data??? I hope you have!? If not - so now it's to late.

Next step:

After applying S45i_040315 use S45iv04 Activator by ACiD

Download: http://www.gsmdev.de/index.php?c=viewprojektinfo&id=13

Using this very good tool for patching CRC and others. If you've done this successful you can turn on mobile. (if you get message "Wrong Software", please "Unlock" phone by using SME45Tools for example).

???

For applying (many) other patches, please use V_klay:

Please apply this patch with V_klay and format flex memory. It works 100%.

;Increased FlexMemory (393,51kb)

;You should backup your whole contents of Flexmem using one of those
;applications to backup directly. Or you can use Data Exchange (for
;Flexmem files) and VisSie / Mobile Navigator (for Addressbook) to
;backup indirectly.
;after format is still increased

I have done everything you have described above, have been doing it from the start, but that is not the case here!!!

I can't restore my original FUBU, so is there a way to format/erase the complete memory range, and then to upload the FUBU or smthing???

because I'm scared that if I just try to flash it again it might not work???

If you have your (working) orig. Fubu you haven't to be "scared"!

One reason, that your upgrade doesn't work, could be your chipset...BA20 Chip is a little bit more difficult as CE20, C289 or C489 Chip.

Use this link and download SME45Tools:

http://gsmfree.vipserver.ru/Siemens/sme45_sme45i.htm

There is also a manual, how to update SME45 to SME45i (but only in german!)

In your case...select register "Write flash"..."Read from file" (here you must select your orig. Fubu)..."Write to flash" (short pression red button) - READY!

Now your orig. Fubu will be restored.

It works 100%.

Please search forum, too. There are "hundreds" of posts about this topic...

Example:http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/show...ghlight=sme45i

BTW: (Hope you use an non-original-datacable)!!! Have you charged your battery to max. before you made your fubu? So before restore your fubu, you have to charge your battery to max. again!
