Hello new here

I have an M8800 and was very annoyed with the Girly screen savers but i found out how to remove the Flowery Pics and some annoying ringtones too.

Download the Firmware that you intend to use first,
Then download WinImage and install,
Download WinImage

Open WinImage and locate the firmware folder (UNZIPPED)

Now locate the File Called FactoryFs_M8800 and open it in WinImage,
Go to the Bottom and double click SystemFS and double click to Open it,
Now head for Media in there you will find Images, Sounds, and enter either,
In either of those Images / sounds they are the Only Ones you need to delete the Selected files from you can extract them first so you Know what you are deleting.
(DO NOT DELEYE THE CONTAINING FOLDERS JUST THE FILES)

Once you have Deleted the Files you can NOW save your work, just hit the Floppy save Button at the top of the screen.

Jobs done Now flash your Phone as Normal and do a reset after and then let it Load up again and do another reset.

All done

Hi all.

I'm new to flashing the Pixon but I've debranded and unlocked a few PalmOne handsets.

I have a copy of the multiloader and a recent M8800 firmware.

Am I corrrect in asuming that flashing a new firmware into the M8800 won't unlock the SIMLock?

In fact, do I need to unlock the SIMLock before I try to flash?

How important is it to use the original USB cable? Are there problems with aftermarket ones? (The phone i am hoping to flash didn't come to me with a cable)

Thanks guys (and girls)

hi mate,
you're right flashing has got nothing to do with unlocking. and as they are two completely independent procedures it doesn't matter which one you do first.
you can use any USB cable, as long as pc suit recognizes the phone you've got no problem.

You need to enter the bootloader screen before plugging the phone into the computer.
