This is the same on Windows XP,Windows Vista and Windows 7. If you already have a password to remove it go to user account or administer account. Where it says change or remove password, type in your existing password and then where it says new password leave blank and click save. Or on Windows 7 go to remove password, type in your password then click remove password. Now you will no longer have to enter a password every time you start your computer or do anything else, such as change settings. If you are setting up your computer for the first time, you will need to fill in the short for, asking for your computer name. For example Ann or Fred etc, than where it says password, leave this blank, then give your email address, where it asks for it. At least, that is what I did when I set up my Windows 7 laptop. I have an administer account, which is also a user account. And I have never had a password on my account or computer. Also it is possible to set up guest accounts and other user accounts without having to put passwords on them. You just click the box of the account you want to log into on the screen. Example you will see your account and guest account displayed on the screen and if you wanted to log in to guest account. Then click guest account box and it will start without having to enter a password.
