A plea for help (903)

Hi all,

I got my 903 today from ebay and it keeps giving me a "reprovisioning" error when i try to go into a menu. I saw somewhere else if you do a master reset it fixes it but now my signal has dropped significantly. I am using the Hong Kong software although, ideally I want to use the european flashed one. I cant find Sharp Tool availible anywhere on the net for free and paying for the software updates would be hard for me. I have a USB cable and I have the phone. Is there anything that could be done for the phone to make it 1. Have better signal, 2. get rid of the hong kong firmware and 3. Let me enjoy it!!!

Please help, I know there are people out there that can

if you have reprovisioning, it is NOT an error. Also, you may have got your phone from HongKong, but reprovisioning means you have Japanese firmware.

if you want to remove reprovisioning you have to have your phone reflashed to Euro or HK firmware.

You should buy USB-Smart. It is about $70 USD with the cruiser 4in1 cable included. If your phone was made before December 2005, you can just flash it; however, if you phone was made in December 2005 or after (IMEI with 00/1 pattern), you will need to do the testpoint in the "ChinaSpace" thread here on the board. That TP requires 9V attached to the cruiser cable.

Where abouts do you live? It might be simpler if you get someone else to do it. It should cost $50 USD or less.

It costs a bit more but you get some free FEDEX shipping from i-phone.org.

Thanks, that has kind of sorted it out for me.... Where would I get the flash files then?

Oh, and i'm from Ireland and it is hard to get sharp phones flashed/unlocked here... I suppose I will have to deal with the reprovisioning thing with the jap firmware.... too bad I'll try and find some way of flashing it here and if all else fails I can try and get that thing from i-phone.. doubt it though

Ireland eh. Well I dont know how hard it is to ship to Scottland but my friend over at phantomgsm.com will be able to flash it for you.

His site is phantomgsm.com .

Its too bad my grandfather is old now and has alzheimer's or I would have my Irish Passport. I am in Canada.

this is the link for his site for the tool + motorola activation + samsung activation and cruiser cable set:

Sounds like you only need the basic USB SMart with cable set. You should be able to get this for around 40-50 GBP from there or from i-phone.org you can get the tool with cables for around $70 USD from malaysia (thats what I did almost a year ago).

Stupid question but can the 903 not be flashed with the normal USB cable that comes with it?

I dont think so. Cable needs to have +Voltage connection. That's why you can only use cruiser or UFS w/ two-head cable.

Also, 903 doesn't come with a cable.

Anyone know a company I could send my phone(903) to in the UK or Ireland (preferably because i live there) that would be able to flash it with the euro firmware and wouldn't charge over the top prices?
