buy an internal PCI USB 2.0 card this is the only solution that will work to resolve your problem.

Hi

Have the same kind of problems with usb smart as everyone else with nforce chipsets..

I have understood that i need to buy a powered usb hub but what is the problem with nforce chipsets and USB ports anyway ??

Had a XP3000 on a nforce2 chipset and this caused me problems with various usb devices, now i bought a system with nforce3 chipset and now i find that nvidia apparantly have not fixed the nforce2 problems..

Is there no way around buying a powered USB hub ?

It is also weird that my setool dongle works just fine in the same usb ports ???

Just doo it like Flayingfox said, insert PCI to USB card and you will resolve youre problem with Smart Card.
Maybe will be better for Zulea to relase solution with Schlumberger card and his tool will be better protected and will work on all MB.

Sorry, this is not an option with me as i have a shuttle mini-pc with only one PCI slot and this slot is allready in use..

I will try the powered USB hub solution tomorrow, i was just curious about whether anyone knew what was the actual problem with nforce chipsets...I mean if it is some hardware fault or it is software..

I have no idea what the problem is, but external usb-hub works fine, I even disconnected the external power supply and no problem. Strange is my old computer was AMD XP with nforce2, no problem. My new computer is AMD 64 and nforce3 and I had to buy usb-hub...

Better solution is to insert PCI > USB card on mother board (these solution is only what was working in my case),but some people said that conect USB hub (which is conect to ordinary USB port) and Smart dongle works. For me,not works, same thing.I have AMD 64 bit proccessor on Epox MB with eNforce4 chipset, and there is no way to conect the USB-Smart to standard USB port on MB.I was trayed allso USB hub and nothing happened, but when was inserted PCI to USB card, finaly success, dongle works well.So my suggestion is to use PCI>USB card on all eNforce kinde MB.

I have AMD processor Athlon 2200 XP on via chipset KT266A.
I can't update my dongle. Always it stops on 11-20% and says "Another thread is using long time USBSmart.dll" - see the attachment.
I tried UsbsmartMaintenance 2.0-2.3 but not happy
I restarted PC ran UsbsmartMaintenance 2.3 but again it stopped on 11% with same error.
My dongle connected to USB PCI 2.0 Card
