SDA unbootable

Today I received a dead SDA. The customer tried to flash an SP5 rom into it with an almost empty battery. Ofcourse this failed and he should have used an SP3i rom with full battery. But now the phone is completely dead, not even entering bootloader and not giving any response on usb.
Is there any way to connect to this phone so I can fix this? Maybe by testpoint or something?

No software solution can revive your SDA, because SP5 & SP5m has different memory locations for IPL & SPL which are erased now.

Don't ask for hardware solution because it doesn't exist or not possible by simple means.

Ok, thank you for your answer. I know it has different locations for IPL/SPL and thus erased it. But I was just hoping to be able to initiate boot in some way even when it's damaged (as is possible with some other brands).

How can I know before asking when it hasn't been asked before... Also nothing is impossible, it is just not possible for us (yet): I guess htc can do it, omap processor has jtag interface and flashchips can be programmed directly...

Looks like the bootloader from SP5 got flashed on the SP3. This means as soon as the phone tries to startup it will try to initialize a wrong processor and different external components (is like you startup your toaster with the firmware of the washing machine). For sure this will cause a lockup of the device during startup of bootloader ==> whenever you try to turn of the device it immediately crashes. Flashing with JTAG is not possible right now.

as pawa say, no other hw solution to solve this problem

hi ,

solution is there , not all that tuff if u are doing hardware and have a progammer.

remove DOC flash chip m-systems ,write the dump using progammer ,cheap programmer that supports this flash chip is eetools ,and u can revive the phone.

Ok, thank you all for answering. Unfortunately I don't have bga soldering skills/tools, so I just returned the phone to the customer and confronted him with his mistake. I think he won't be trying to 'fix' phones himself for a while now

HI ,,

first see your programmer supports M-Systems devices ,,up 48 or any of its series not support m-systems doc ,,
may some one can suggest some resonable priced programmer for this device
as DATA-IO supports it but is nearly 11,000usd.
\
if u have a programmer to write this device than ask for dump for it
