Mobile phone chipping - GSM-Forum

I would really appreciate any advice, descriptions or experience anyone can give regarding phone chipping in relation to getting free call time credit.

Is this an analogue or a digital thing? Can any phone be chipped? Will any SIM work in a chipped phone? Is it easy to do?...

you can clone somebody else's sim card and place calls billed to his accounts ...

Thanks for your posts.

I do know of this going on at present and not just with BTCellnet accounts. As far as I am aware its a pre-pay thing, and after the phone (any phone) is 'chipped' it can then be topped up at a reduced rate (i.e. £1 for £10 of credit) from the right people... Is this right?

the credit chip still works, but its better if you use it abroad !!!!!

takes them longer to switch it off !!!!!

ive herd ov a thing were i live that you put a code into your phone and get free credit for 3 months with the o2 network ......
enyone herd enything plz let me no.

hi there text: calls 50 to 21300 to get 50 mins any time any net till 6 feb 06
o2 users only you will recieve text confirming it is activated

it called 02 treats but you have to be useing 02 payg sims for 6 months & topup at least once as first anyone could do it cause 02 computer were new to it sometime it still work but not a lot or it will take £7.99 if you got it so try do it with a payg sim older than 6 months if not sure go to 02 home page & look for 02 treats
