i am new in this streem...
doing some 6 month collage project work in telecom (based on GSM) company...
i know basics of GSM network elements... interfaces.. and call process and hoppings.. blahh...
now i want know about mobile hardware.. i am a electronic and instrumentation engineer .... can someone help me with their basics..and i have a nokia 3110c (lol) mobile with me...

this Equipments are all the problim diefaine to your gsm setes
but the oscilloscope is very expencive tool

The use of the osciloscope device is to measure the signals or frequency( cycle per seconds).

For that first we should know the points on pcb where we can put the probe of scope. ( for example. Input of audio ic is digital and output should be analog in the matter of rx simillarly in tx input should be analog and output should be digital so the parts where the input is coming, and where the output is coming from ic that location should be know well).

Secondly we should know the normal waveforms at that particular points.

So better to use multimeter and ohms concept in it.

As per my knowledge 900mhz / 1800mhz means its very high range. So the scope will also expensive.

i use this and 100% of my brain i don't need oscilloscopes and result is 98% repaired phones

These two are the best , u can use them, if u use ur brain too , else u can't even with osciloscope and special mesuring tools .

scilloscope measures the frequencies emerging from PCP, such as

1- sleepclock oscillator
2- RF CLK
3- Network Frequency

If you do not have oscilloscope you can not watch any oscillations in mobiles, then you don't know about pulses in cells.

Your Tester is FAKE..SUNWA..made in China,,I'll use SANWA Made in Jpan..YX-360TRF Model..and Your Digital Multi tester is not also good..if you use Fluke Brand and then I'll agree.... you'll have a good Equipment..hehehehe
