depends - the freq the osciloscope can measure and if it is analogic or digital or if it has memory or not to save the readings. If u have a osciloscope that can measure 2 GHz frecvency then is good for GSM. lower frectvency rate osciloscopes doesen't helpo very much but is good for measure the TX and RX or the clock ... Spectrum analyser is a diferent tool there u can see not the form of the wave but the range and the amplitude and the armonics wich does help some time. But the best tool is brain and electronic knowledge and a vrey good multimeter. Of course a very good power supply also is good but we must not forget that the best is the hot or air infrared soldering reworking tool. But again depends on the fault that we must solve. If it is a software problem then the box and the software can make all the diferences. Best regards u all. alianu.

If For Nokia we still Have to use phoenix and test jig. I think it's not neccesary.

Just use HWK do selltest. It's also quite nice solutions.

i think.. SELFTEST + SCHEMATICS DIAGRAM + MULTITESTER more faster and better for finding fault. and absolutly cheaper..

OSC <= efective for development only.
