Kada 862D++

Hi everyone

I am new to this site and have reading some very interesting info on reflowing and reballing.

I have been using hot air to reflow laptops at my place of work for about 18 months and decided to purchase an infra red station. I purchased a KADA 862D++ of EBAY and have had some successes with it. Using a preheat of 100C for 15 minuites and IR at 220C for 90 seconds measured with 2 temperature probes one for the board and one for the chip. As yet I have not popcorned any chips. As yet I have not tried to remove the red silicon from around the chips as I am not sure of the best way to do this without causing damage to the board or chip. I have 3 HP dv9000's that I need to either replace the north bridge chip or reball as one does not see the wireless card and the other two do not see the CDrom drive at bios level.

Any advise on remove the red silicon would be very appreciated.

Thank You
