some solutions and one question with jovy

hi,
iam from germany and using jovy about 1.5year now.
iam reading every post about the station and some posts help me.

I found out, the only way to get 1Celsius per Second heating is only possible:

1. preheat lower heater 5min
2. after this go to normal mode and run upper heater to reflow
3. after 2min upper heater to fast reflow and lower heater reflow for 2min
4.now the station is warmed up.
5. go to park mode and lower heater to preheat mode.
6.put the motherboard on the holder and put the sensor near the bga,put flux around the bga
7.upper heater level/height 7 and normal mode ,reflow
8. check the temp ,it will raise...after every 3sec go in small steps with the upper heater down.
9.if temp reaches 120C fix the upper heater the height 3.5 Position
10.upper heater fastreflow and lower heater reflow.
wait till temp reaches 200-215 ,check if bga is removeable finish.

with this hardworking selfmade profile ,i never get popcorn effect or any other damage and remove AND reball all gpus successfully!

i build a pcb holder with 4 arms and 20 screws on it,which can fix the board.

i use kingbo flux and the blue reworkstation(ebay) for putting the balls the on the chip.

Before this profile ,i damaged many many many boards and gpus.

i have just one problem:
with bigger boards for example 17" the get warped round the gpu ,but under the gpu are my selfmade screws, which fix the hole board. its a butterfly effect.

Can someone help me?

Hi. So is this station OK or Crap ? I buying one of this machines, but I do not know which is good. Until now I used T862++ (this is total s*it) and ERSA 550A ersa is super but is not mine and owner is unwilling to sell. I look this Jovy RE-7500 (copy of ERSA 550A) and I wonder if this Machine works (no problem with popocorn effects, no bend motherboard, and accurate temperature)

I have a Jovy and really like it, but its not without its flaws. Takes an age to get used to using. Software shows you whats happening but doesnt truely control the profile. Height adjustment is a bit fiddly. Thermocouple position is crap, along with the thermocouple itself. XY table needs some expensive extras to be of any use.

That said its still value for money compared to some brands and the build and finish are excellent.

Would i buy another Jovy, no probably not but its still a good choice depending on what you work on.

the problem with the jovy is the pcb which controls the machine is along with the bottom heater, which requires additional cooling and i can defenitely say that INTEL South bridge BGA IC (all lead free) gets damaged 99% avg, if you are doing mobile it is ok, but no no for laptop bga ics.

I think its fine for laptops and xboxes which is what I use it for 99% of the time once you get used to it. I know theres a much improved bigger upper heater on the way, which should provide a much more even heat spread and dramatically improve performance for PS3 and the larger laptop BGAs.

Just a small modification

- use the software to operate the upper heater before apply it to the PCB
- better to heat the glass before you start any work

For help , try the new supporters ....
