cant unlock gd87e


hi can someone help me with my phone, i have brought a panasonic gd87e off a friend with no sim,i tried to put my vodaphone sim in and it wont allow it
because its locked to orange
i have some unlock codes but i cant put them in, the problem is you have to put *#pw+, i can put in the *#p but i cant get a w or a + to come up i have been told you have to press the * key 2 3 & 4 times to get the different letters but all this does is puts lots of * on the screen, if someone can help or tell me where im going wrong i would be very greatfull
ps. sorry about the long message

for panasonic its 746 double menu(double menu means press the round menu button twice ) and than go to network---- and put the right code there....

yeah poor bugger let him learn we are all new at things we try 2 do panasonic gd87's are the easyist phone to unlock i would say like.. all help can be found va my user name a post called "read for downgraing the panasonic" all via my website http://www.webuponthe****
