changing imei now unlock blocked - GSM-Forum

hi can some one help me ive changed the imei number on my gd87 now it wont except any sims i keyed in 746 menu menu and it say unlock but when i press the button it saying unlock bloked contact supplyer whats gone wrong can someone help me

hi how what did you use to change it , as im stumped i used reader 5 writes new imei but phone doesnt change,

u need to keep the 1st 6 digits of the phone imei the same i.e. if the original imei starts with 35616xxxxxxxxx then when chane the imei the 1st 6 shud remain the same and only the 'x' shud be changed. Reason for this is something to do with phone ID etc being recognised from this first six digits.
