Brute Force unlocking - GSM-Forum

A suggestion for BB5Box developers...
Every once in a while a TP gets damaged and there's no way to unlock the phone... since we can roll back code trys by rewriting pm 308 backup.. why not place an option on the SW for bruteforcing the code? Just keep trying and rewriting PM for every 10 attempts.. should theoretically unlock any phone within a few hours.. this could also be used in non-supported models, new flash types, or if a user just doesn't want to risk a specific phone and has the time for bruteforcing it. This should be relatively easy to code and should prompt the user to which number he'd want to begin with.. in case of crashes or something.. it would need to start incrementing all the way from the start. This would surely place BB5Box above it's competitors. Please tell me what do u think of this suggestion =).

omg.. i hadn't really done the math on it... u can take that 'few' from before YEARS lol =)

Anyway, seems you are "close" to a solution to unlock BB5 just by cable .... brute force. Tho "only" problem is you will not live enough to see only one phone unlocked using this brute force method ... But, there is an melody played by Queen called: "Who Wants to Live Forever" (older movie is also a good start ...)

oh well.. guess i won't unlock any phones using this method until christmas =)

I heard people is already unlocking bb5 (off course not the free phones by dejan), here in spain, is not as far as you think.
