Hi, I have added you on Skype to discuss something.

Thanks

Sorry for the delay. Someone with a clean G800F can contact me Monday afternoon via Skype or email. I'll give them a file to make a Odin flashable tar which should be able to wipe the lock on your G800F.

I need someone to download the app Storage Partitions and tell me the mmcblk numbers of persist and persdata (you'll need to go to menu>advanced to see this information). I'll be able to proceed with making the file.

I wouldn't want to risk it. I'm not sure if Odin would flash it will all zeros and even if it was able to, the persist partition may be faulty if you injected it with null. I want to give as "stock" of a solution as possible. Side-effects are what I do not want to create.

I mean you try that with a phone in which you have already images of partitions in case of a problem you flash them via Odin

I mean dd'ing the right partition would be a universal fix

Flashing the file via Odin is an even easier fix. It doesn't even require root AND there is no way to mess up writing the data to the partitions because Odin handles the loading for you. I'm not by any means saying "DO NOT TRY IT", just pointing out some things

as soon as phone was connected to wi-fi (phone sensed the source of internet)
... and the playstore was accessed, the old culprit screen came back.
Any remedy suggested?

See 5 posts above you. Or if you've applied the patch file from earlier, flash it again, don't let it boot into android but rather boot into recovery, wipe data and cache, reboot back into download mode, flash the full firmware package, after it's done you should wipe data and cache again, then boot into android. Some steps of this may not be necessary but this is as full of a wipe as you can get.

If you're still getting the error do the steps above again, but quickly out the phone into dm mode and repair the imei. If it's linked to the imei then it'll be fine after you repair it.
