3G no network or no sim card - GSM-Forum

I have a 3G, ver 4.1 bb 06.15.00, earlier it was working fine but after installing the custom firmware as the phone was stuck, no some times it loss the signal and say no network or no sim card. After restart or putting the phone in airplane mode, it works fine for few hours and than again same thing. It happens 3 or 4 times a day. What can be the problem.
