I basically asked the same question, about 4 days ago, but no one is answering.

Seems we must wait for greenpoison to come out in the next few week

There doesn't appear to be a 100% succesful jailbreak for firmware 4.2.1 as of yet guys.

It can be jailbroken but everytime you power down you'll need to hook up to a computer to get the thing to boot again. This is known as a tethered jailbreak and tbh, is not very useful and forms only half a jailbreak in my opinion.

There are however two options available if you have 4.2.1:

1. Wait for an untethered jailbreak to come out. ( There's information around that suggests a pre Christmas launch is expected )

2. Attempt to downgrade from 4.2.1 to 4.1 firmware and then go with an appropriate jailbreak. ( This is causing some posters many problems, appears very involving and cannot be done if you haven't backed up your shsh files when your device was at 4.1 ).
