Bro I dont recommend you to downgrade and update ipad baseband .because iphone 3gs 8gb mostly bricked after install ipad baseband.so do on your own risk.

i killed 2 3gs baseband @week 25(not 28 as my post above) ,new boot erom .

Today I unlocked an iPhone 3GS of week 23 year 2011, so I think those ones are safe to proceed with iPad baseband flash.

But this is just my experience, I don't know yours... ;)

You can, genrate custom IPSW 5.0.1 with Sn0wbreez last version 2.9.1
1025 boot ram paration, and choice install IPAD baseband, your new baseband firmware will be intergerieted inside the software,, , but device DFU mode, ready it with Ireb-5, and let Itunes restore it normal shsh from apple server.

some devices need to write again ipadbaseband in case you donr have signal, install cydia then ulltrasn0w.
