3gs carrier name no bars - GSM-Forum

Can anyone guide me in the right direction. I had a 3gs on 5.0.1 baseband 6.15.00 and loaded ultrasn0w via cydia. When i do this network carrier comes up as normal but with no signal bars. When i uninstall ultrasn0w it just stays in searching. The iphone 3gs was working ok before update. I have used redsn0w to try to unlock.

I have tried and updated baseband again and ultrasn0w and as I live in uk i use O2 network sim card I can only get O2 Ireland as I live near republic if Ireland but can get uk network

Sorry to tell u that. Your iphone has been reported as lost or stolen phone in UK. All network providers blocking ur IMEI number....only in UK...Thats why is working with o2 ireland. But it will never work in the UK. Nothing to do with baseband. If u getting operator name and no bars then is barred/blocked.. I am 100% sure. I am working as technician in the UK and i know this problem really well. Dont waste your time with flashing 6.15 baseband over and over again.

Thanks but it was working 100% before the 5.0.1 update also 100% no barred or stolen as I have had it from new

If you have operator logo and one bar or none on the screen-your phone is in black listing, blocked by network operator.

I had this experience in past... I think phone was in process of getting blocked and when u did update to 5.0.1, in process of activation iphone was contacting apple server and apple server recognized it as blocked. It did happend to me as i said. Phone is 100% blocked/barred/black listed.
