Having Issues restoring iPhone and updating to iOS5 - GSM-Forum

Hello,

So i was hoping someone could help me out. I've searched Google for hours and this is my last hope!

I have a Jailbroken 3GS.

According to TINY UMBRELLA it has:

4.2.1 FIRMWARE and
05.15.04-6.4_M3S2 BASEBAND

I want to restore the phone so I can upgrade to iOS5; I'm also having issues with a fast draining battery which is the bigger problem I want to solve with the restore.

The problem is that every-time i try to restore through iTunes I receive the 3194 error. I tried playing around with the HOSTS file and unchecking the box in Tiny Umbrella but it didn't work.

Am I **** out of luck or is their something I can do?

Any help will be greatly appreciated! thanks for reading.

You should run tinyumbrella and click star tss server after that you can restore with lower version using costum ipsw "do not use restore file"
before restoring you should entring your iphone in "pwnd dfu mode" with redsn0w or other tool

Is there any chance you could give me step by step instructions ...I am really afraid i will brick my phone. I can't afford another one right now. How do you know if its simfree?
