HELP with iPhone 3G 4.2.1!!!!!!!!!! - GSM-Forum

okay so I have a jailbroken iphone 3g on FW 4.2.1 Baseband 05.14.03
as you have read, i managed to jailbroke it by using custom ipsw to preserve baseband (not upgrade to ipad baseband 06.15.00).

so i've unlocked it with ultrasn0w blah blah blah...

but the problem is that after the jailbreak and unlocking process, itunes won't detect my iphone! well, it detects it in a way.... when i plug in my iphone, the import pictures window appears, AND ITUNES OPENS. it means it detects it, but it never appeared on the DEVICES TAB.

I GOOGLED SOLUTIONS.....
i tried uninstalling/reinstalling itunes, even fully uninstalling it (remove apple device support, apple update etc.) according to Apple support website. i also tried restarting the device, (hard restart too!). Restarted service ( i ensured the service is started), uninstalled the device on device manager and plugged to install it again, updated the device driver software...

...BUT NOTHING WORKED.

please help

Have you tried to restore it again?...

solved it...

repeated the 4.2.1 update process but restored back up data first with itunes before ultrasn0w..
