hi bro,
i search my fone error 23..n some say hardware problem some say try flash wed firmware 2.2 or uninstal itune etc.....i try every thing no luck
so the problem in my fone..
1. IMEA(UNKNOWN)
2.ICCID(UNKONOWN)
mean ur iphone cannot go for update or restore itune connot put ur fone in prepair iphone for restore...
so i try n use WINPWN,2.5 BETA ..
n use file CUSTOM_IPHONE.1,2_2.0.2_5C1_RESTORE..n itune restore my fone wedout any error after i update iphone1,2_3.0_7a341_restore N UNLOCK MY FONE OK TESTED 2 PCS...hope ur problem solve

my iphone 2g was toast - always errored when trying to update in itunes, lost wifi baseband etc and couldn't downgrade to virginize. Was about to take to it with a 5 iron but by fluke managed to fix it.... did these steps (no sim card inserted)

downloaded & ran - QuickPwnRC3
used - iPhone1,1_2.0_5A347_Restore.ipsw and let it run

used - itunes 7.5.0.20 & restored using iPhone1,1_2.0_5A347_Restore.ipsw

sat down had a coffee and waited..... about 15 mins later pc beeped and itunes said SIM required etc so inserted and ran QuickPwnRC3 again

back as good as new and upgraded to 3.0 using redsn0w !!!

as I said, I fluked it but maybe it'll work for you....

open itunnel and winscp replace the file 1,2_3.0_7a341_custom n tyr...?

Can you GIVE some more details. Such as the version of itunes what are the first STEPSm hows to go through each of them !! Please !!

not working, i tried to pass firmware custom, as the same version, on Itunes 8.2.1, but i get error 1600, what's the version, that u used, in the first step? (after use winpwn beta, to pass firmware custom...)
and after this procedure, i tried too, put firmware 3.0, but i get again the error: (23).......
i have unlocked 2 pieces at two day ago, with any problem, but this iphone, is getting error -.-, i think that's a hardware problem, plz if u realy have a solution, help me plz!!!

Bro, if You know your Iphone FirmwareVersion just do it restore in iTunes in by your Original Firmware.

this one do it by selecting '' Restore and Updates'' in iTunes and wait until it done...

and jailbreak and unlokc it... Try it good luck

Men, i tried all, with the last version of the itunes (8.2.1), and phone coneccted in DFU mode, itunes don't give me the option "update", only give me the option "restore", clicking in restore, only, i get error (23), and clicking with shift, and searching the files, i get the same error (23) except with the olders versions, that i get error 1600... like a custon firmware, 2.02 and 2.0 ,that i tried...

I tried too... instal itunes 7.5... but non success... i don't know waht i do now... please ,someone can help me with this s*** ^^
