I-phone 3gs

I hope someone can help me. I received an 3GS to unlock. I made sure that the phone is "safe" to upgrade the baseband. Software version 4.2.1 and Baseband 5.16. I upgraded the Baseband to 6.15 and then the phone showed "The phone needs to cool down before further use"

I left the phone overnight and the next morning it still showed the message. I again used the latest Redsnow and installed Cydia again, and the Error message disappeared. All the icons except Settings and Stock and weather also disappeared from the I-Phone and the Cydia icon is also missing.

If I use ITools I can still see all the pictures and music and contacts. I try to restore 4.2.1 on ITunes but keeps on getting error messages.

I then downloaded V5.0.1 but now I'm not able to find it.

1. Does anybody know how to solve my first problem.

2. Does anybody know where ITunes save the downloaded flashfiles (default save)?

Thanks

Firmware files have an .ipsw extension and can be found at the following locations:

On Windows XP :
Documents and Settings\<User>\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates

On Windows Vista/Windows 7:
Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates

On Mac:

Update. The cooldown error message was solved by using Redsnow again and installing Cydia. The phones software is V5.0.1 now and Baseband 6.15.00. Imei and Wi-fi is working, but I'm not able to unlock this phone. I've tried everything.

P.S. I received another 3GS with same firmware and baseband and it unlocked very easy so i'm confused

As Poswalm wrote. It is necessary to update your baseband to 6.15.00 again after writting 5.0.1 firmware. And you problem will be solved. And one more thing - if you put the simcard with pin code into your iPhone does the phone ask for that pin code or not?
