IMEi & MODEM firmware BLANK !! SOLUTIon !! - GSM-Forum

I have one iPhone 3G and 3Gs both having Blank IMEI and Modem Firmware !!!

Any solution for that when try to upgrade or do anthing with the 3Gs it make a error 23.

But with the iPhone 3G it update to 4.0 and jailbreak with cydia install but wrote NO service at the network location with no SIM INSERTED inside !!

i´ve got 2 x 3g, and 3 x 2g with same problem, never found a solution for those. one thing I´m sure: it´s not sw problem, it´s some faulty conection with the logic board, such info is there, but can not be found. if you try to ping the baseband in such situation, you´ll see that also has no result.

i successfully upgraded one of those 3g to iOS (4.0), which shows same thing as you. problem remains the same, only changed its form. anything related to radio don´t work. i´ve been looking for such solution has been almost 2 years (on 2g), tried everything I could think of, and a LOT of lousy sugestions in forum boards.

I gave up. If you ever find some solution, please let me know, already stopped trying.

had same problem with 3G. it was water damage. there are some tips in hardware section for how to repair. but it didn't work for me. took to a apple store. they are willing to replace a like for like for £140 if it is out of warrentee
