Iphone 3G corrupted imei - GSM-Forum

Hi to all,
i have a iphone3G with imei 0049000xxxxx.
is there some solution for this problem?
phone is : 2.2.1 / 2.30.03
bootloader 5.09
what can be the cause of this ? (customer bring me the phone like this)
my idea , upgrade to 3.0 beta for flash modem but can i unlock with universal sim after?

Yes.. U Can Unlock By Universal SIM Its Work Great On 4.20 ModeM

with this version 2.2.1 , bb 02.30.03, bl 5.09 you can use universal sim with out upgade to 3.0 beta
i try it here in lebanon 100% wrock

thanks but what about imei ?
i think i need toflash baseband to solve my imei ...

hi brother ur iphone imei is ok bcoz i see many iphone with this imei like 00456654 etc dont worry thanks

uselly when you have 0049990....... imei mean corrupted, am i really wrong to think my imei is corrupted?

if its a fully unlocked phone then your idea is very good otherwise hardware flashing is the only solution just as we use for 2.30 modem (BL--5.9,6.2,6.4) UNLOCKING-.b.r.-cpukiller

what do you think, if i flash again 02.30.03 with BBupdaterExtrem, can solve the problem?
i just need ICE2_02.30.03.fls and ICE2_02.30.03.eep....

so,
i have flashed the phone in v3.0 beta 5
nothing have change for the imei....
the imie is:
004999010640000
i have call the customer and she said to me that she buy this phone and another one in china.i asked for the imei on the box but she says to me she give away the box before travel...
The second phone is working well with yellosnow cause was 2.2 otb.
i asked her to give me the imei of the second phone and she says:
004999010640000.
so i don't understand anymore... why are the imei from china changed like this? stealed phone? how they do that?

probably the phone is unlocked via hardware method with a full flash dump rewrite.. and imei is corrupted may be

while try to unlock with programmer , FLASH CHIP Should be missed or fuked up , not properly fitted

so you mean in fact phone was already unlocked before, with corrupted imei or bad soldering flash chip?
what about this methode if you restore or update?
will the unlock go away?
if they really do that why they don't donwgrade the boot loader?, could be easier for futur...
any help welcome for fix this phone

today i will open the phone for look if i can do something...

No way to take it back the IMEI when you don't have SEC ZONE back up.That some one rewrites with full dump from other phone and unlock by hardware method(they don't know how to back up Sec zone) or the Intel chip was changed,so the IMEI will becomes 0049......but possible to get it unlocked and downgrade boot loader to 5.8 permanently.

yes sure with this technic for me the most interresting is to change only bootloader in 5.08. if they success to do this, they can unlock with yellowsnow.....
because for me imei 0049..... is not professionnal work....even if requied hight skill in hardware....
