At first thanks to all iphone pros here in this forum! Really good work! I have the same problem (iPhone 3G) and we checked everything on this phone really everything even x-rayed it in a factory that does SMD. We cannot find any damage on the logicboard. I heated with hot air station because of Wifi Problem and after this no more "real" picture on the display. If I try restore on itunes I get error 1604. Changed lcd and whole display no help. Does anyone know what else I can do? Thanks! | |

Did you've connected all connectors? try using only the LCD cable without Touch- and sensor-cable. worst case, you've damaged the mainboard while soldering the wifi connection. Don't know if you can see a broken connection with x-ray? I would try to desolder/solder the LCD connector on the board, if you already heated the board it dosn't matter. good luck |

Member: 11325 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 266 | If you just reflowed PMB2525 and got this then logically the problem is around it. My first guess is that you overheated this IC itself. Really strange as the display IC is on the other side of the board... literally opposite. Does it get hot when left powered on as it is? Check that IC and feel it and see if it gets abnormally hot.A short near the GPS IC could be present (or this IC itself). As it is the phone is not booting up. Showing the lines and white display means nothing except that its in a critical condition. Anyway 1. Did you clean this IC before or you just heated it directly? 2. Did you notice any solder balls after finished the reflow... just beside the IC? If yes that is a very serious one. In this case you ll have to pull it out, reball it and place it back 3. Assuming you overheated it and none of the above worked check on the other side of the board where there is the long module which is the one of wifi and bluetooth module. If there is the need replace the whole thing. The problem is somewhere there. Sorry mate for writing all this but its hard to do guess work like this. Its like imagining something remotely. Come back with results and more diagnosis. |
