if version 6.1 , and modem 5.16,
downgrade to 4.1,
flash ipad baseband,
update to 6.1,
jailbreak with evasi0n,
install ultrasnow,
enjoy , unlocked phone,
works only on safe serial for ipad baseband,
tested on new boot 3gs also ,

use snowbreeze and create a custom firmware of 6.1, turn you phone to dfu mode, then restore to itunes...
