for downgrade your iphone you only need to put iphone in dfu mode and make restore on itunes after this your iphone is 1000% downgradable :)

i've downgraded my iphone 3g only by put it in dfu mode

correction.
iPhone 2G DO NOT have online payloader security can downgrade firmware part .
iPhone 3G DO NOT have online payloader security can downgrade firmware part .
iPhone 3Gs have online payloader security you CAN NOT downgrade firmware part IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ECID backup at cydia server or locally.
iPhone 4G have online payloader security you CAN NOT downgrade firmware part IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ECID backup at cydia server or locally.

iPhone 4G 4.0.2 have online payloader security you CAN NOT downgrade firmware part at any condition at moment.

this is my experience may possible i can be wrong some time.

tried for a hr, no luck:p

2G and 3G you can do with no problem but with 3GS and 4 you will need to have SHSH for 4.0 or 4.0.1 on file with cydia server

yeh done about 60 3g`s lol but i got a 3gs last night cheap and been trying now all afternoon

i tried the easy way of dfu and restore, i get error 3014 is it, if i try the the other way with editting the host file i get another error lol

hi, im new to phone business. and im finding dificulltys to downgare this iphones. i have got 2 iphone with 4.0.2 firmware and now i have downloaded 4.0.1 firmware to my laptop. and its rar file. now when i click shift button to itunes in dfu mode its asking me to put this fille menually but when i look for this fille i cant see any file. its not coming up. is it because its rar file?????? can any one explain how to install this fille and how to chose and which file when i click shift button? im using xp windows. thanks in advance.
