iphone 4s 16 gb carrier "searching"
 

Dear friends
Recently i purchased a new iphone 4s 16 gb without bill, it works fine for the past 8-9 monthsm but now it is only showing "Searching" instead of showing carrier name. Please help...to fix it.

The steps i done:-
Restored via itunes more than 5 times
airplane on/off
date and time manual settings.

Recently i found after removing the sim then also it is showing "searching" and the location services are not working.

check if u can see iccid near imei number, genral > about, if its not showin hardware issue,

No iccid and no imei number...
kindly help what to b fixed

no way to fix your iphone just buy a new one...........

but sometimes i switch off the phone for 15-20 days, when i on it, it shows the carrier name and works fine for 2-3 days

if theres no iccid and imei number its a serious hardware issue, main ic, its almost impossible to replace the ic,

some are claming tht they r doing it, but im not sure,,,, even i have a same phone with me, i tried heating the main ic and it worked for few days and now the main board is dead hence the phone

so......it will be good for me to use the iphone as ipod....
no need to disturb the hardware

yes u r correct, even though call function is not working the device is a good option the camera, music, everything... and if u r getting wifi u can still surf net and add apps etc,
one of ma frnd is using the same condition iphone like this and he is using a portable wifi hotspot device to access web anywhere anytime,

connect i tunes then sync.........i hope you will be success

Hi . I had solve this probllem 2,3 time by restore . But if you take out battery you have to restore it again. as soon as you will restore it it will start shwoing imei no and working . If you reset all sitting it will show carerr but not make a call , you can t disconnect it . I had done by restore.

Very simple solution for the iphone 4s is Date & Time, if you change something an you put out the akku the time will set it 01.01.1970 and there is the problem. The iphone is searching. Pleas set the time & date to the correct time & date and restart the iphone and it will solve the problem.

I tried all the above process....reinserted the battery, correct the date & time. but nothing new to my phone...it is showing Searching all the time.

its a hardware issue..

Then why you dont try to understand....or trust them ??

update your iPhone with iTunes simple :):):):):)
