iphone pcb repair

Ok, so i tried taking an iphone 3g 8gb apart the wrong way and now the signal is really poor.

It seems like i kinda bent the pcb where there is a small tab that has the large antenna pad has been strained possibly severing the internal connection.

Does anyone know where this pad traces to and if it is possible to solder a small wire to repair this.

Thanks in advance...

same problem? anyone have a solution.

i have a feeling it will be the centre pin of the (what looks like) external antenna connector next to the pad.

can anyone confirm / deny?

What did you discover Chris?

Hi Chris,

I seem to have the same issue as you. Did you manage to trace the wire to the aerial?

Are you able to take a photo of your fix?

Any help is appreciated

Cheers

above the antenna on the PCB there's a small oblong sticker.

Under this sticker you can scratch the surface to reveal the contact on the board.

Solder a wire from here to the antenna contact at the bottom of the board
