Member: 110909 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 2 | Problem with activating iPhone 4 on AT&T I'm from the UK and am having trouble activating an iPhone 4 locked to at&t I bought this recently off **** fairly cheap knowing at&t can now be factory unlocked. However I have a problem and need some advice.. When I try to activate this phone with iTunes I get the activation error saying "we are experiencing a problem activating your phone" Then goes on to tell me to visit an Apple store or call them up. It says this no matter what sim card I have in the phone (even at&t sim) The strange thing is when enter I the serial number of the phone on the Apple website it says "this is a serial number for a product that has been replaced" I think someone has somehow used this serial number to get another phone replaced or this phone hasn't made it back to Apple after being replaced?! If this is the case does it mean the phones IMEI is no longer in Apples database and therefore can not be activated?! If so what can I do? I can hacktivate the phone with a jailbreak but that does not enable me to use a sim card in the phone. The phone is running latest software and baseband so I'm thinking I'm pretty much screwed here? I would like your thoughts on this please as maybe I have missed something or am wrong? |

Member: 1653961 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 9 | I have personally used iPhone 4 which was replaced by somebody. May be by showing the sim tray serial number as when I got the phone, it had a different sim tray inside. But I never faced any problem activating it. I did it many times infact and it's still working great. Your problem might relate to an internal iOS conflict. Put your phone into DFU mode and do a clean restore. This might solve the problem. |
