I recomend that you have installed iTunes 10.4

How to downgrade 4.3.5 to 4.1 iPhone 3GS :

Step 1: Run Ireb4 , your iPhone 3GS will enter dfu mode.
Step 2: Go to iTunes and flash 4.1 custom firmware ipsw.
Step 3: Jailbreak your iPhone 3GS with Redsn0w, install cydia and the ipad baseband 6.15.
Step 4: Unlock your iPhone 3GS with ultrasn0w

that is all, i do it and works 100%

just try with other itunes version, recommended 10.4

but after this procedure,,,, my iphone can not isntal aplication form appstore via itunes.....

just download and install afc2add from cydia, and after patch the iphone with patch 4.1

download afc2add from cydia, how ? just search in cydia afc2add and select it and install and the iphone will restart, now how to patch ? that is so easy, extract the zip, enter to the folder, and double click to Patch_App4.bat, and a DOS windows open, and patch the iphone and this self closed, and that is all

i have a iphone 3GS and wish to jailbreak and unlock it. I followed the steps 1 & 2, installed both your links and downloaded iOS 4.1 custom firmware and redsnow 0.9.6rc8.rar, i restored and downgraded the software from the 4.3.5 to the 4.1... but when running redsnow and choosing the iOS 4.1 download when browsing, it says that redsnow is unalble to recognize specified ipsw... please help?!
