Red face Connect WiFi on V802 Mini/MT 6235 Iphone

First of all I apologize for asking such a basic question. This is the only forum that I have seen where the members are Not rude or patronizing, so I felt comfortable joining. As I am a tec fool!!!

Anyway, I collected my new dual Sim V802 mini i phone today and as its a clone the user manual is pants, which is not a surprise. I am desperate to use the WiFi function and it keeps asking for "pre-shared key" when I click on to connect to my home wifi. I assumed this meant password, but when I type that in, it say "invalid pre-shared key"!!! I even went to the local shopping centre that has open wireless and pressed connect, then it said cannot connect. Help!! As I am unable to sort out the wifi connection, I am unable to use the google maps, the java applications and much more.

I expect I am being really thick and apoligise again for this, I hope someone has the patience to help me.
Thanks

Plz remove the password from ur home's Wifi and then try to connect with phone.
Also i advice u to check all the option of Wifi in settings. There may be some option which in unchecked or that don't allow the phone to connect .So check all options MENU>Setings and finally reset the phone if problem persits.
To restore factory settings U need code which is 1122.

Regards,
Umair

I just wanted to say a big thank you for taking the time to respond. So sorry for the delay. I did as suggested, and still no luck. So I took the phone back and thankfully there was a problem, it was not me. Makes me feel less like an idiot.
Thank you again
