Member: 2770845 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | My Palm Tx and Iphone 6 in 2017 The Year is 2017. And I have a date with my Palm Tx. Recently just bought one from the good old internet. But I did tried it on a cheap E2 I've found on the local selling just USD 15.00 because deciding on buying a Tx. Saw the demise of the Palm device when droves migrated to the new IPhone. my last device was a Treo 680. But now I'm back because I've missed the good old Palm desktop. As a business user, I always needed my contact information on a device as well as on my desktop for easy reference and data entry. I have no complaints about the iPhone except that it does not have a desktop equivalent. Recently I've been playing with my Tx with my iPhone 6 and thought I should share it with everyone who may be interested in the Palm again. 1. I was able to connect the TX to my IPhone 6 via Bluetooth and used it to update the currency rates on my Worldmate Pro. I'm surprised it still works! Giving updated information on currencies and flight information. 2. The Dialer and SMS can connect to the IPhone via BT but it does nothing unfortunately unless some software developers are willing to explore this window of opportunity. 3. Blazer works but most websites now are not optimized for the palm device anymore so, it just shows error displaying web pages. 4. Versa Mails works too but have yet to download any emails on my Tx. 3. I was able to sync my Tx with Windows 8 via Bluetooth. Was told there is no problem to sync with Windows 10 but have yet to tried it. Absolutely no problem to sync with my faithful windows XP pro. For Windows 8 and 10 users, just remember to open the desktop as Administrator by right-clicking the desktop icon and selecting the option. Works everytime. Do this only if the big 4 icons suddenly disappears. That's about it. Hoping to hear from like-minded Palm user friends who may have more tricks to make the Palm useful for the coming 2018 and beyond. The Palm is Alive! |
