8800 charging port

i have a problem unlocking a bb 8800,the computer doesnt recognizes it but it charges via usb,i dont know what the problem might be, can anyone help out?

Many 8800 have the charging port problem. In some charges but no data transfers. In some both do not work.

Change the port and try unlocking again.

i have done that but still same problem,any other idea?

Try using an authentic Blackberry USB Cable.
Nokia Cable charges the phone but no data transfer.
